這件作品最初的構想是來自於電蚊拍擊殺蚊子所產生的電光以及聲音。記得在小的時候，常去阿公阿媽家玩，那時蚊子很多，常會被叮的滿腿都是，痛苦難當。但是只要聽到了捕蚊燈有蚊子飛過的聲音，筆者的心中就會油然升起一種快感。於是把這種快感放大成更大的電流。
但發現人在享受這種快感的同時，似乎又非常恐懼的害怕電流，這種感知以及身體感的處裡是筆者所感興趣的。 這是一件裝置作品，在漆黑的展間中，參觀者必須摸黑著前進，而這當中會摸到裝置的本身，而由觸覺的方式窺伺作品的片貌，而處在黑暗中所有的感官也會放大。當參觀者走到正中間的定點時，所有周圍的電擊棒會一起啟動，當觀者受到了強烈的電流聲光包覆，極度的恐懼驚嚇中，某種快感油然而生。 The concept of my artwork primarily comes from the flash of light and sound caused by the moment when the Electric Mosquito Flapper kills mosquitoes. In my childhood memory, I went to my grandparents’ home, where there were a lot of mosquitoes. Oftentimes I would be bitten all over the legs, and it was very itchy. However, as long as I heard that some mosquitoes flied through the electric trap, I felt delighted. Thus, I intend to expand(transform) the sense of delight into a much bigger electric current. But I discovered that while people enjoy this sense of delight, they are afraid of the electric current at the same time. I think this kind of sensation and the arrangement of physical awareness is what I’d like to focus on. It’s an electric installation. In the dull black space, the visitors must move on into the darkness. In the darkness, all the sensation will be enlarged. When visitors reach the central spot, all the devices around them will be turned on at the same time. Thus, while visitors are surrounded by the intense light and sound made by the electric current, and are trapped because of extreme fright and the overloading pleasant sensation. Is the expanding pleasant sensation still a delightful one? Or it will be transformed into different sensation? |
